Eclipse Fest Mount Carmel: Experience Totality in Rural America

Chicago and St. Louis peeps: Looking for somewhere rural in southern Illinois to experience totality? Want to avoid the traffic of Carbondale’s eclipse crossroads?

We’re musicians and makers, and we’ve banded together with a handful of other local small businesses to host Eclipse Fest, a small and intimate event right on the main road in rural Mt. Carmel, IL.

Be sure to stop by at some point and see us! We’ll have free music throughout the weekend, food, and vendors. Mount Carmel is anticipating a lot of traffic so might as well give you all something to do in this small town! Support local small businesses and enjoy the best of free small town entertainment.

Where the heck is Mount Carmel?
Mount Carmel is on the banks of the Wabash River. It’s a quaint town that nobody pays attention to. The pretty main streets and old historic homes hint of a different time.

Here, everyone knows your name (and your business). Here, Friday night football is life, and if you don’t work at the hospital or Toyota, someone in your family probably does.

The people of this town have been through a lot the last couple decades. But let me tell you, they know how to party!
(There’s nothing else to do here… 🤣)

This is the heart of America, and if you are from the city like I was, it is a different world than the one you know. Even if it is only a few hours from home.

All this is to say that Eclipse Fest in Mount Carmel, IL could end up being a real hidden gem of a location for those looking for something to do this eclipse weekend.

We would love to see you there!

(Oh yeah.. and don’t forget to order your shirts, ornaments, and pinhole projectors.)
